What Is Your PG/VG Ratio?

When electronic cigarettes hit the market, there is only one new thing that they brought. Batteries had always been around and things shaped like tubes have been around for centuries. The real innovation was the electronic liquid that was used in a combination of the tube, a battery and e-juice.

It can therefore be correctly argued that e-liquid is the true heart of the e-cig. As with all important things, many have come up with methods to make their own e-liquid while others are comfortable with simply placing an order with their supplier so that their favourite blend is delivered to them.

Have you ever bothered to think about what your favourite ratio is and how it could be affecting your experience?

The Vapor Factor.

Many associate satisfaction to how much vapour their device can produce once it is in use. It is widely believed that the more Vegetable Glycerin (VG) that is present in your e-liquid, the more the amount of vapour that your device will produce.

This is because VG is very viscous, or thick, so when it is heated much more vapor is produced. This is strengthened by the fact that it has the ability to capture more water droplets from the air and that thickens the vapour even more.

And The Flavour…

No one can underestimate the role that flavour plays in making electronic cigarettes so appealing to those that use them. The sheer variety of flavours available makes it a very limitless world and one can choose to have a different flavour each day and they will not easily sample all that is available!

It is said that the more Propylene Glycol (PG) your electronic liquid has the more intense the flavour in there will be. You will also get a more intense throat hit when you vape e-juice that has a lot of PG in it.

To enrich your flavour therefore, adjust the PG content upwards to a level that gives you just what you want.

The Ratios…

These vary from maker to maker. You can have e-liquid that is 100% PG or VG and then the variations start from there. Some people prefer a 50/50 mix while others go for a 60/40 PG/VG ratio.

To get the best of both PG and VG, it is advisable to avoid e-juice that has only one of these base liquids. Keep trying out different combinations until you get your nirvana.

Bringing It All Together…

You may have settled for a certain mix just because it worked for you when you had just started out on your e-cig adventure. Why not try out various mixes so that you open up a whole new range of possibilities in your vaping experience?

Who knows, you may get to vaping heights that you never thought possible, or your sampling adventures may reaffirm that you are a one-mix vaper who never needs to tinker with what works. Some people say “if it ain’t broke, break it” while others say “why fix it if it ain’t broke?” There is only one way of finding out on which side of the fence you stand, and that is by trying various ratios.
